We have been providing a range of services, starting from Architecture, Structure, All Building Services, till Statutary, Interiors, and Landscape; since April 2012, the time from when we have been officially active.
Way back, towards the end of 2011, a group of young, creative and eager professionals who shared the same aspirations, zeal to learn and had gained wide experience in various domains related to architecture and much more, decided to join forces to shape something futuristic, meaningful, and upgradable; something that would continue to remain contemporary. The group members who had, by that time, acquired extensive knowledge across different technical, environmental, socio-economic and administrative domains, began to harness their experiences to offer comprehensive services for a variety of solutions, through a single window.
Our experienced and proactive team members have the confidence to accept any challenge, work hard, and to achieve the best and most unique results out of it. Beyond Architecture Planning Studio is a Kolkata based architectural firm that specializes in residential, mixed utility projects and IT- office space planning, landscape planning, Interior and Master planning of townships etc. Lead by its founder, Karunamoy Kolay and co-founder Tannishtha Mukherjee the Beyond Architecture team brings over 32 years of collective design experience to meet any design requirement. Client satisfaction is a priority for all team members.
Principal Architect & Planner
Karunamoy Kolay holds a Bachelor Degree in Architecture (2003) & a Master of Town & Regional Planning Degree (2005) from Bengal Engineering & Science University (currently IIEST), Shibpore, Kolkata. He is registered with the Council of Architecture, India; and Institute of Town Planners, India.
He started his career by resolving crucial and chronic issues in the town planning of a city. Through it, he has gained immense exposure in the socio-economic and physical infrastructures of a town. Prior to founding Beyond Architecture, he worked with Hiland Group, one of the then regardful property developers, handling large scale projects like integrated townships of 262 acres, interacting with stalward architects of India. He had held the post of the Senior Manager of the design team for six years, in the same. Moreover, he has also worked with Larsen and Toubro.
He has expanded his repertoire by accepting challenging jobs as a freelancer eversince graduating. Establishing a one stop solution for planning needs has always been his dream- which has now been realized through Beyond Architecture.
His technical acumen, great foresight, detailed knowledge of planning, persistence, strong observations, exceptional memory, and inexorable energy, combined with exposure to large scale projects, are the driving forces behind the impressive growth that Beyond Architecture has achieved in such a short time.

Tannishtha Mukherjee, a Graduate of Architecture (2003) and Master of Town & Regional Planning (2005), who had achieved both Academic Excellence and a Gold Medal for her exceptional thesis from Bengal Engineering & Science University (currently IIEST), Shibpore, Kolkata; is the co-founder of Beyond Architecture. She is registered with the Council of Architecture, India; and Institute of Town Planners, India.
Being the daughter of a civil engineer, since childhood, she obtained her interest in various fields of built structures, further into architecture. Her interaction with technical workmen for several years gave her the confidence to serve better, persuading her into producing something that could incorporate all planning solutions under one roof. Now that she could make Beyond Architecture a leading name among architectural firms, her dreams have come true.
Her vast experience in several kinds of buildings, such as IT-Commercials, Malls and Residential Projects makes her a proficient, resolute, knowledgeable, and persevering lead member of the team.
Hitherto giving birth to Beyond Architecture, and making it predominant in the architectural society, she has worked as the lead person of the design team at Infinity Infotech Parks Limited, which is the main contributor to the foundation on which modern architecture of IT Parks, and Malls stand upon. In addition to that, she has also worked as a Town Planner of an Urban Local Body, from which she has acquired a wealth of expertise in Town Planning.
As an outstanding architect, she possesses the ability to understand and accomplish designs that are flexible as per market requirements, and require simple maintenance. This makes her an exceptional designer who produces sustainable developments.
Tannishtha never lets Beyond Architecture lose its essence, no matter whatever comes in her way. In other words, Tannishtha is one of the pillars of Beyond Architecture, who bestows the right support and foundation that encourages Beyond Architecture to go ahead and win the hearts of its clients.
